AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Administration and Operations Manager
In this role you will serve as the primary resource for our team with regard to ministry operations. You will provide up-to-date information and coaching through internal communications and training, you will problem solve with our team, look for ways to improve functionality, and provide accountability through the day to day oversight of ministry operations.
You will represent our Administrative Team as a member of our Executive Leadership Team (ELT). You will ensure that the ELT has the information they need to make decisions in the field, and you will look for opportunities to support the field team through the identification of helpful resources and the provision of operational or administrative support.
Reports to: Executive Director
Your Specific Responsibilities Will Include:
- Product pricing and catalogue development
- SWAG planning, coordination, and communication
- Oversight of the operations budget
- Insurance and affiliation/s compliance paperwork and payments
- Oversight of Awana’s CRM including training for new volunteers and staff, problem solving, and analysis of data as requested Oversight of vendor contracts
- Stay attuned to the needs to the team and provide updates and support as necessary
- Attend bi-weekly leadership team meetings, and bi-weekly all team meetings
- Work to stay informed about products/inventory, supply chain, and shipping changes or challenges by attending monthly supply chain meetings and maintaining good communication with relevant teams. You will attend monthly supply chain meetings
- Provide coverage for our Finance and Partner Care Coordinators as required (both are currently 24 hours per week)
In addition you will provide support in the following areas:
- Editing and drafting external updates, announcements, press releases, and reports
- Editing and drafting internal communication that relates to internal policies, systems, and updates etc.
- Project management support for team members working on special projects
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Experience managing a CRM (ZOHO an asset)
- Experience with the implementation and maintenance of systems and procedures
- Strong computer proficiency, including GoogleSuit, CRM software, Zoom, Excel
- Ability to manage change
- Demonstrated experience coaching/training a team through operational shifts or the implementation of change
- Has excellent communication skills
- Organized, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task and proven ability to problem solve
- Experience working with teams in remote or multiple offices
- Should be a self-starter who is motivated to work even when on their own

Manager of Communications and Partnerships
As the Communications Manager at Awana International Canada, you will be the driving force behind all internal and external communication efforts. With your exceptional skills and expertise, you’ll oversee the communication planning process, create and refine content and identify opportunities to build stronger partnerships and donor relationships through clear and consistent communication.
We’re looking for someone who is confident in their ability to lead and execute effective communication strategies that align with Awana’s strategic plan and core values. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all communication with stakeholders is clear, consistent and aligned
with our mission.
With your exceptional communication skills and strategic mindset, you’ll be instrumental in enhancing our brand and promoting our vision to a wider audience. Your Specific Responsibilities Will Include:
- Leading annual communication planning for national and regional ministry areas
- Creation and editing of content for national and regional communications including blogs, surveys, press releases, newsletters, and website content
- Management of social media pages
- Oversight of AIC’s annual appeal, from content planning to design and mailing
- Internal communications
- Development of content to support and AIC initiatives
- Manage existing partner relationships, assist with project management, and explore new partnership opportunities
Qualifications and Competencies:
- 2-4 years of experience within communications, partnerships, marketing or related field
- Experience developing and implementing communication plans
- Strong interpersonal skills for managing partner relationships
- Ability to collaborate with remote working teams
- Knowledge of social media is a plus
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Education/post-secondary within the field is considered an asset

FINANCE MANAGER
The role will be a part-time Canadian based remote position with a flexible schedule. Awana International Canada is in the process of seeking our next Finance Manager to serve as a part of our leadership for our national ministry.
The Finance Manager will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and the Executive Director in order to financially steward the ministry and give support and direction in strategic planning.
The Finance Manager not only plays a key role in financial accountability and reporting, but as well must be able to feel the ministries heart to grow.
We are seeking a qualified finance professional with corporate experience and knowledge of the not-for-profit sector to help develop and grow the Awana Canada Ministry. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and support decision-making through financial data analysis with timely reporting to the Executive Director, Board, and Executive Leadership Team.
Responsibilities include leading all financial reporting, collaborating on budgets and forecasts, ensuring compliance with Federal and Provincial reporting deadlines, and reviewing accounts monthly while adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

FUNDRAISING AND DONOR RELATIONS MANAGER
The Fundraising & Donor Relations Manager plays a key leadership role in advancing the mission of Awana International Canada by developing strong, sustainable donor relationships and strategies. This role is responsible for achieving fundraising targets, leading donor engagement initiatives, and mentoring fundraising-focused staff and volunteers. This position ensures the long-term sustainability of the ministry by aligning Awana’s mission with donor passion to give.
REPORTS TO:
Primary – Executive Director
Part-time or Full-time: Full-time (37-40 hours per week)
Travel: Frequent travel required, especially to B.C. and Ontario, with occasional travel across Canada (approx. 3–4 weeks/year)
Compensation: 55,000–$65,000 annually
Benefits Included: $75 Internet/ month, $50 phone /month. 2 weeks of vacation plus 1-2 week shut-down over Christmas. Full-time employees will be offered health benefits, and GRSP options with employer contribution after 3 months.
Responsibilities
1. Fund Development – Growing sustainable ministry support:
● Lead the creation and implementation of fundraising strategies to meet annual income targets.
● Cultivate, steward, and grow a portfolio of major and mid-level donors.
● Build strong relationships with donors, churches, mission boards, and partners.
● Promote generosity through storytelling, impact reporting, and passion alignment.
● Work with the Executive Director and Board to identify and engage donors for transformational giving.
● Collect and share regional and national stories/photos that inspire and communicate ministry impact.
2. Strategic Leadership – Casting vision and ensuring long-term growth:
● Participate in the development of and manage the annual fundraising plan and budget.
● Track performance metrics and provide regular reports to the Executive Director and Board.
● Actively participate in the Leadership Team meetings and contribute to national strategy.

4. Donor Communications – Keeping supporters engaged and informed:
● Ensure timely donor acknowledgment, impact updates, and personal touches.
● Create and review communications that reflect Awana’s brand, heart, and impact.
● Represent Awana Canada with warmth and excellence at donor events, gatherings, and presentations..
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has a strong fundraising background, leadership experience, and a passion for equipping the local church to reach kids with the Gospel.

MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR: ONTARIO REGION
Ministry Development: Coordinator for the Ontario Region.
Content & Creative Development
Ministry Development Coordinators work within a specific region or regions to support the mission of Awana: equipping leaders to reach kids through long-term relational discipleship.
This role focuses on strengthening the health of ministry at the local church level, developing ministry leaders, and supporting the growth and sustainability of ministry efforts through church partnerships, fundraising, training, communications, and resource development.
In addition to regional ministry development responsibilities, this position includes a specialty focus in communications, video editing, and curriculum/resource development to help support churches, leaders, and families across Canada.
REPORTS TO: Operations and Resources Director
Part-time or Full-time: Full-time contract 37-40 hours per week – 12 months
Travel: Frequent travel within your region with occasional travel across Canada (approx. 5-6 weeks in the year)

Responsibilities

Align Awana’s vision with the passions of donors, churches, and ministry partners in order to secure stable funding and long-term support for ministry initiatives.

2. Church Care & Ministry Support:
Provide ongoing encouragement, coaching, and practical support to partnered churches and ministry leaders.

- Calling, emailing, and connecting regularly with church partners
Scheduling meetings and discussions with pastors and ministry directors - Identifying ministry needs and opportunities for support or training
- Encouraging and praying for ministry leaders
- Assisting churches in confidently running healthy and effective ministries
- Supporting the implementation of ministry initiatives such as AwanaGO
3. Training & Leadership Development:
Help equip and develop leaders to build sustainable and impactful ministries.
Responsibilities include:
- Organizing and leading training sessions, both onsite and virtual
- Facilitating virtual roundtables and collaborative discussions
- Coaching leaders in volunteer development, leadership health, and ministry growth
- Visiting churches and presenting at conferences, events, and gatherings
- Identifying and mentoring emerging volunteer advocates and ministry leaders
- Supporting new ministry start-ups and regional ministry expansion
4. Content & Creative Development
Support ministry communication efforts through storytelling, digital content creation, and creative media development.
Responsibilities include:
- Editing and producing ministry-related video content for training, promotion, and storytelling
- Assisting with communication strategies across digital platforms
- Creating written content including ministry updates, newsletters, promotional materials, and social media support
- Collaborating with ministry leaders to communicate vision and impact clearly and effectively
- Supporting branding consistency and ministry messaging across projects
5. Curriculum & Resource Development
Contribute to the development and improvement of ministry resources that support churches and families.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in curriculum writing, editing, and resource development
- Supporting the creation of discipleship and family ministry materials
- Reviewing and refining educational content for clarity, engagement, and theological alignment
- Collaborating with ministry teams on new resource initiatives and training materials
- Helping develop practical tools that equip churches and parents in faith formation
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is familiar with Awana and has a passion for reaching children and families with the Gospel through relational discipleship.

PARTNER CARE COORDINATOR

As the front line for our partner churches in the Awana Canada ministry, Partner Care is the cornerstone of ongoing support. This role fosters relationships with our partner churches, assisting with everything from curriculum inquiries to shipping concerns. This position requires meticulous attention to detail for data and shipment tracking. Join us in this dynamic role where you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring seamless assistance in the ministry’s diverse needs.
Competencies and Qualifications
- Over 3 years of experience in customer service/care environment

- Excellent tracking, organizing, data entry, and reporting skills

- Ability to work independently and on a team

Partner Care
- Answer phones, voicemails, and emails in a timely manner
- Enter telephone and email orders into our online store
- Assist customers as they track packages or experience shipping challenges
- Take action to resolve customer issues and answer challenging questions or complaints. This might include challenges with an order or dissatisfaction with a decision made to change a product or service
- Work in and oversee partner records in ZOHO CRM to support partner and team relationships, track activity on accounts, and keep partner records up to date
- Track registration numbers year over year and provide reports as requested
- Assist partners as they navigate the website and look for additional information and resources
- Stay up to date with knowledge of products, programs, and curriculum that is offered
- Answer partner questions about their accounts, process payments and donations, issue credits, and send invoices and statements upon request
- Communicate with direct reports when trends occur or when a challenge requires immediate action and can not otherwise be resolved
Office Administration / Other Duties
- Participate in weekly team meetings and departmental or office meetings as they are scheduled
- Administrative duties as assigned. May include but are not limited to Editing our yearly catalogue, Tracking registrations and payments for events, and Monitoring and updating website information
- Providing backup to Finance as required. This may include picking up the mail, doing deposits etc.
Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week (M-F, 9am-5pm)
Compensation: Salary, full benefits, RRSP matching, 2 weeks vacation plus 1-2 week shutdown over Christmas
